Home Office

To work from home, we use the VPN to gain access to the company network. Connecting is very easy:

1. Find the VPN client in the taskbar (bottom right corner, it will be a golden lock) and double-click it. You might need to hit the up arrow to open up a further menu.

2. Use your email and password to sign in on the newly opened web page

3. Use your Authenticator App to finish signing in

4. When the icon shows a green dot over the lock, you are connected

For those who have an office computer or Virtual Machine:

1. There should hopefully be a shortcut on your laptop to connect to your office PC or VM - If so, skip to Step 4

2. Search in the start menu for "Remote Desktop Connection"

3. Type in the name of your office computer (the name is the asset tag on the computer, or the VM you were assigned), and click "Connect"

4. Use your normal login credentials (username and password), and click "OK"

A VPN, or Virtual Private Network, is a service that encrypts your internet traffic and masks your IP address, creating a secure tunnel for your online activity. This is important for keeping company information and documents safe when using the internet.

If you have a meeting, or a call of any kind while working from home, the first thing you might notice is that your microphone and your camera appear to be not be functioning, but this is not the case! The problem is actually very simply just that you are still remotely using computer at Bausch + Stroebel which has no camera or Microphone. 

To join a call or a meeting, follow these easy steps:

1. Minimize the remote session by clicking the "-" symbol on the blue bar on top of your screen

2. If joining a meeting, open outlook to get the meeting invitation, otherwise continue to step 3

3. Open Teams (or whichever program you are using for the meeting)

4. You should be all set, make sure that you choose the correct microphone, speaker, and camera for your meeting before joining
